Dear Subscribers

It’s with great pleasure welcoming you the re-launch edition of the newsletter and we are also looking forward to the print edition coming out early 2016. The new Leadership in Sport magazine has undergone a significant change in terms of content and from now on we will primarily feature, not only leadership profiles but also thought leadership on the many issues pertaining to managing modern day sport in very challenging environments.

We are also looking forward to the first ever Leaders in Sports Awards, the LISAs, which will be held at the start of the second quarter of 2016 and it will also include the inaugural Leaders in Sport Summit. The LISAs will bestow awards upon sports business personalities, sport sponsors and government officials involved in sports development respectively. It is also our hope that we will get to meet many of you at these two functions.  For details on how to enter, visit www.leadershipinsport.co.za

Sports leaders worldwide are currently faced with so many challenges around good governance and our international contributor Michael Pedersen recently delivered a presentation on good governance in sport and his key points are found in the article below.

He also did a presentation in Doha, Qatar on the prevention of "Handling the Prevention of Match-Fixing as a Sport Governance Issue".

Happy reading.

Until next week.
